I am 38 years old and live in Floyd, NM. I have always loved animals and have many. I currently have a horse ranch with many different animals including many rescues and strays they include; 8 horses, 4 dogs, 4 cats, a goat, and 3 birds. I hope to contribute to the wildlife community by helping the little critters that need help. My dream has always been to help animals and I think this is the perfect way to do it therefore I founded Alpine Meadows Wildlife Rehab- founded in 2007. We are in our fourth year!
Some training that I have done to help me in this exciting new venture are:
I was trained by UAN/EARS in 1998 as an emergency animal rescue worker. I am currently listed with them as a wildlife rehabber and hope to help out in case of emergencies in our area.
I HAVE EARNED THE FOLLOWING CERTIFICATES:- Veterinarian Assistant certificate in 2000.
- Veterinary Assistance certificate earning a 98% in 2007.
- Forestry & Wildlife Conservation certificate in 2007. I averaged a 99% in this course.
- Wound Management course offered by the IWRC in September 2008 with a 95%
- Fluid Therapy course offered by the IWRC in October 2008 with a 90%
- Pain Management course offered by the IWRC in February 2009 with a 95%
- Euthanasia class offered by the IWRC in March 2009 with a 96%
I have received my Professional Certification by the IWRC. This certification is internationally recognized and is a mark of excellence.I AM A MEMBER OF THE FOLLOWING ASSOCIATIONS:
- I am a current member of the NWRA (National Wildlife Rehabbers Association)
- I am a current member of the IWRC (International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council).
- I am a current member of the American Society of Mammalogists
